I’m still on perimeter of the blog world, but compliments to your project here…… excellent diversity and writing skills. as for myself in that respect, i have a lot of wreckage in my frequency range and certain bands within it, so my mixes (and auditory perception in general) are drastically different than those produced by healthy ears :)
of course, plugins can’t replace a well-trained ear at the console. haven’t used it yet, but you might find good use with it. ever tried “trackspacer” plugin? it claims to facilitate instrument separation in mix like no other utility. i did find, though, the extent to which reverb can also be used like increasing the “release” parameters on an ADSR envelope.Ģ. not a criticism here, just an observation the reverb was pretty thick over all. “less is more” in effects, but considering the horsepower available in effects plugins these days, it’s hard to resist using them with impunity. reduce reverb on the half-note block/stick instrument.
